- The objective of winning limits you. You feel like you can’t win because winning is the wrong objective. What is winning anyway? Who defines the parameters and objectives to be met? The perception of whether you are winning at life or not is often based on other people’s opinions and expectations, right? And after you win, then what? But what if your objective is continual growth instead? You will be on a life-long journey to realizing your full potential. You will win the long-game of life, not just the battles.
- You’ve defined the wrong competition for yourself. Maybe you’re trying to achieve the same success or results that someone else has. You look at your friends’ social media feed and think, how can I get that? Or even worse, you think, how can I be better than him/her? In your career you think how can I get a promotion before so-and-so does? Or how can I outsell my competition? You’re forgetting that your only competition is yourself. If you continually work to be better than you were yesterday, to improve on the yesterday’s results, you will always win.
- You believe you’re an impostor. You think you’re not good enough. You think you don’t have anything worthy to offer the world. So you stop yourself from trying. You can’t win if you don’t enter the arena. Know that no one else has the knowledge or experiences that you have, which means you have a unique perspective. Now isn’t that something that should be shared with the world?
