3 Straightforward Steps to
Find Your Passion
You’re frustrated, “crazy busy”, and burned out. All because you spend most of your day chasing successes that don’t align with your passion.
You’re fed up with mediocrity. You know there has to be more to life, and you want to find your passion.
But, you don’t know how to get off the hamster wheel. You don’t know how to get out of The Expectation Gap.
To that end, I have good news and bad news. The good news — you don’t need to “find your passion.” The bad news — embracing it could be a painful process, one that will test the limits of your resolve.
I say you don’t need to find your passion because you already have it. You just have to start listening to and trusting yourself. Here’s how:
- Name your core values. Naming your core values is the foundation of all personal growth. How can you find your passion if you don’t know what you value? This post will help you name your core values: 3 Reasons You Need to Name Your Core Values
- Sit quietly with yourself. Take time to be with yourself, with no outside distractions, every day. You’ll find that your inner voice is talking to you. If you listen closely, it will tell you what your passion is. As I once heard Glennon Doyle say, “The wisest women I know only take orders from the voice that they hear in the quiet.”
Keep scrolling for step #3.
Step #3
#3 – Take action. Now for the hard part; the painful part that will test the limits of your resolve. You have to do what your inner voice is telling you to do. You might end up on a couple of detours. You might have to work with your inner voice a bit to understand what it’s really trying to tell you. But through your actions, through work, you will find your passion.
As spoken by Simon Sinek:
When we work hard for something we don’t believe in, it’s called stress. When we work hard for something we do believe in, it’s called passion.”
