How to Practice Gratitude Daily - With Real-Life Examples
I’ve been reading and writing about privilege quite a bit recently. My goal in doing so is to encourage you (and myself) to practice gratitude daily by recognizing the many privileges that we have.
The result? I’ve begun to practice gratitude daily, almost instinctually. That’s the beauty of Deliberate Thinking. It rewires your brain so that you subconsciously practice life-changing habits.
One habit that I would like to break is complaining, and, more specifically, complaining about trivial things. Because, let’s face it, I have a pretty amazing life, and I bet you do too! You have access to the resources that led you to this post, which is pretty amazing. Plus, you have the ability to read these words. That’s pretty amazing, isn’t it?
So today, we’re going to work on breaking this bad habit of complaining, together. First, I’ll offer 3 examples of things that I might have complained about this morning, and then I’ll show how I can flip the script and practice gratitude.
- It’s another dreary, cold day here in southwest Michigan.
- My daughter asked me to drive her to school, rather than her taking the bus, again!
- Another day went by with no new memberships on this site.
How did I flip these complaints? Keep scrolling.
