Struggling to Meet Your Life Goals?
How to Shift Your Mindset
We’ve all created a mental image of our perfect life at one time or another, right? Maybe that picture includes the perfect partner, the perfect career, the perfect house, the perfect amount of money, etc. And we unwittingly set our life goals around this picture-perfect image and work toward making that dream a reality every day.
So how’s that working out for you? I can tell you from my own experience that it didn’t work out for me at all. It left me feeling unsettled, anxious, and void of purpose. And, I imagine you are feeling one or all of these feels too. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be struggling to meet your life goals, and you wouldn’t be reading this post in the first place.
Well guess what — I have good news for you! You’ve just taken your first step toward shifting your mindset! You’ve recognized how hollow your life goals are — that pursuing them isn’t providing any real value or meaning to your life.
Great, but what do you do now? What’s the key to shifting your mindset so that you can redefine your life goals?
Keep scrolling for the answer to these questions.
The Key to Shifting Your Mindset &
Redefining Your Life Goals
Core values!!! Of course ? If you’re familiar with my work at all, you know that I talk about core values a lot because I believe naming your core values is the foundation for all personal development.
So what do core values have to do with your life goals? Well . . . your core values should be your life goal. In other words, personifying your core values as best you can every single day should be your life goal. Why?
If you can do this effectively, that hollow, picture-perfect life you were imagining will lose its importance. By not focusing on those goals, you’ll create space for meaningful and valuable opportunities to present themselves. You’ll be focused on achievements that add purpose to your life, and I’ll bet you’ll achieve more than you ever dreamed possible.
You will have shifted your mindset so that you are focused on living a life of purpose, based on your core values, rather than a life of always wanting more.
So where do you start? You can work on naming your core values here: 3 Reasons You Need to Name Your Core Values and here: A Bold New Way to Identify Your Core Values.
